By accessing or using BallotBrief ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. The Service
BallotBrief provides non-partisan, informational tools to help voters research candidates, ballot measures, and elections. We do not endorse any candidate, party, or position.
3. Not Legal or Voting Advice
The Service is provided for informational purposes only. It is not legal advice, financial advice, or official voting guidance. Recommendations are generated from your stated preferences and publicly available information, which may be incomplete or out of date. Always verify polling locations, deadlines, and ballot content with your official state or local election authority.
4. Accounts
You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide and for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
5. Paid Plans
Premium and Pro election season passes are one-time purchases that grant access to additional features for the current U.S. election cycle. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy. Pricing is subject to change for future cycles.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: (a) scrape, resell, or redistribute Service content; (b) attempt to circumvent paywalls or access controls; (c) use the Service to harass, defraud, or mislead others; (d) submit false or impersonating account information.
7. Intellectual Property
All content, branding, and software in the Service are owned by BallotBrief or its licensors. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BALLOTBRIEF AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold BallotBrief harmless from any claim, loss, or expense arising from your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
